Went to the Magnolia Plantation in Charleston, SC. It was very hot today, but fun. Got to see some a swamp with alligators, an old plantation house, a petting zoo and some very nice scenery. It was worth the visit.
Here's another plantation, Drayton Hall, in Charleston, SC that we didn't go to, but looks interesting. The reason we chose not to go was because there were not as many things for the kids to do.
WE took a carriage ride through downtown Charleston today. There are a lot of old homes. Very expensive too. One of the homes was the Mill House. Go here for a virtual tour.
One interesting thing I learned today is the difference between a graveyard and a cemetary. A graveyard is a cemetary connected to a church. A Cemetary is not connected t a church.
Today we arrived at the "beach". Very nice! It took us right at 11 hours to get here (driving time). Stopped half way and stayed at a pretty bad Motel 6 in Wytheville, VA.
We're staying at the Holiday Inn Express Isle of Palms. It's right on the beach. Just walk out the back door of the hotel and there's a boardwalk that leads right to the beach. Very clean, not over crowded. Well worth it. I'll post some pictures later.
Jack wanted to get a Charleston Riverdogs shirt. So we headed out to the stadium. He liked the mascot.

I found this site in case anyone wants to have their own bobblehead. Not too bad $40.95 using your own picture.
